This is due to the revolution of Weimar Germany in the late thirties.The Nazis rose from the fringe to power and then to power within the Party. The authorities feared that the Nazism movement in Austria would spread to other countries.The US was also worried and this is what prompted President Harding to expel over a hundred thousand German workers that were in the US. The Americans were concerned that there would be further unrest and this would lead to another Hitler's rise to power.Hitler was deposed but the cause for his overthrow was that he refused to reform the movement. He did not want to change the way that the Nazi Party operated and this caused him to get overthrown.There are many references and study material on the Nazi Party.
